real parties: a cupcake theme in pink and green
4.12.2011
Andrea of the Worley House Blog won a giveaway here for an invitation from Party Box Design, and it inspired this pink and green cupcake theme for her daughter Ava’s 1st birthday! She held the party at her own home and included lots of cute & classic details like an oversized cupcake smash cake, marshmallow pops, cake bunting and cupcake sugar cookie favors. I especially love the monthly pictures of her daughter’s first year hung along a length of ribbon. Read on for details and vendor info from Andrea...

Yesterday we had Ava's first birthday party here at our home pool side. We couldn't have asked for a better day, and for better family and friends to share it with. We celebrated with lunch, cake and gifts. Our baby girl has been taking steps all this week, she hasn't quite taken off but it was so cute to see her in her little birthday tutu taking small steps. She devoured her smash cake, and eventually went into a sugar induced nap.
The whole day was absolutely perfect. I still can't believe she's one, it's like over night she grew up and is now big. We are so blessed by her and love her so much.
Here are some of the fabulous vendors I used to help me pull off this adorable party for Ava:

I hadn't signed on in a while and was so sad to hear that your home had been broken into and your precious and valuable possession stolen. But like you said, thank heavens your family is safe and that is the sweetest note your husband gave with a new ring to replace the stolen one. It's a shame that it's often adversity that makes us stronger and appreciate what really matters in life, but I'm glad to hear you're well and have such supportive family and friends... and glad you're back to blogging such beautiful inspiration!
I wonder if my mum has a picture of me doing just that! What a precious photo. Do you have the DIY for the water bottles?
The picture of Ava eating her cake is priceless! Darling party decorations too.

Great blog! I'm poking around the web looking for 40th birthday party themes and ideas. I think I like the rainbow theme (especially the cake) even though it may be a little unconventional or odd for a 40t year olds birthday? Hmmm...
you have one of the best blogs i've ever seen. great job! how do you make the marshmallow pops?
